Two families of 2 adults and 2 teenage kids (total 8), had a great time here. One family was visiting from the UK and loved the log cabin feel, location on the mountainside, and proximity to Breck (5 min drive). It was perfect for a mountain getaway! House was well stocked with everything you could possibly need in the kitchen, plenty of room on main floor for all to socialize, and a good sized deck. We loved the whole experience and would happily come back here again. Adults had the main floor master bedroom (sleeps 2) and loft room (which could sleep 4), which were really nice areas.
We stayed from December 22 - thru 27th 2012. There were 6 adults and 4 children (ages 10 to 4). The house was wonderful. Our family had a great time. My wife wanted a white Christmas and this was perfect.
Elk Trail House was a great choice for my family & me. We had plenty of room to spread out, yet it was a great setting to enjoy quality time together on vacation. Great location: close to town / all activities in the area. My teen age son had fun playing pool in the basement and we all had fun playing cards at the dining table. We had a small maintenance issue when we first arrived, but they sent someone out right away and resolved it immediately. The house was so welcoming and cozy we felt right at home and didn't really want to leave. We would definitely stay here again.
Excellent home, EVERYTHING needed was there, a complete setup for a multiple-day stay. The owners have gone above and beyond to make sure their visitors are comfortable. We will be back. Beautiful and wonderfully furnished authentic log home, complete with a game room with pool table and dart board. Gas fireplace that lights with the flick of a switch (mom missed the smell of a real log fire but dad loved not having to lug logs and clean out ashes). Sleeps 11 comfortably, with a few more who could be squeezed in if you count two futon couches. 3 and 1/2 baths, so no fighting over bathrooms. Owners and management company were very easy to work with and responsive. Recommended for: Age 55+, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children
Beautiful rustic multi-level log home comfortably decorated and furnished. Fully fitted kitchen with all amenities including dishes,glassware, utensils, serving pieces and cookware. Ample room for a large group gathering or intimate enough for a couple. Fantastic setting with tree line views and mountains. Convenient location with close proximity to downtown Breckenridge's restaurants/shopping and ski slopes. Will definitely plan to come back for a summer visit to experience mountain hiking and golf.
We had a wonderful time on our vacation in Breckenridge. We were there in the fall and the colors were beautiful. We enjoyed golfing, hiking, biking and fishing along with eating at the many fine restaurants in Breckenridge. The house we stayed in made us feel right at home in the mountains. The views out the windows felt like we were in a tree house. The accomodations were very nice with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. The large family room with the big fireplace was a great area for our family and friends to gather for food, drinks and games. The house was in great condition and nicely decorated to give it a very "Colorado Lodge" feel. We will definitely stay there again and look forward to our next trip to Breckenridge.
What a lovely vacation retreat. This home is so warm and comfortable it's as if we had furnished it ourselves. The owners trust their guests enough to leave many nice and personal appointments not usually found in most rental properties. The convenience to both ski access points and the town of Breckenridge is exceptional. We loved sitting on the deck and looking out at the mountain vista following our days skiing. Whether it be families or adult couples this is a terrific vacation rental home.
After visiting many properties in Summit County, I have returned to The Elk Trail House many times. It suits me very well for family and group gatherings. The amenities and furnishings are a surpass properties in it's class. the layout is very functional for privacy as well as common space. Each visit there is a comfortable pleasure reagardless of the season.
This gorgeous multi-level log home is perfect for multigenerational family gatherings or couples on a ski vacation. The gathering area in front of the large fireplace and the large dining table sit amid huge windows looking out over tall pine trees. Bedrooms are very comfortable. The atmosphere is perfect for the best vacation memories. The game table and hot tub don't hurt! No problems encountered with the owners.
Great place to stay. Rustic cabin with all the amenities one could want after a long day on the mountain: beautifully appointed and comfortable sofas/chairs, full kitchen including microwave and toaster oven as well as toaster, dining area, outdoor hot tub and spectacular view of the sunset over the crest of the mountains from the deck or out the living area windows. Can handle a large crowd with 4 bedrooms and 3 baths with showers. Includes a game room in the lower level with pool table and darts. Great place for friends getting together to ski or families seeking a mountain getaway in summer or winter without the hotel setting. Easy access into the town for dining, shopping, etc.
This house was Absolutely beautiful and the management company was great to deal with. No problems at all and they called or emailed everyday to make sure we were doing okay and didnt need anything. Cannot say enough good things about Pinnacle.
We had an amazing time in colorado, I loved the house and the city/view. Everything we needed or wanted to do wasnt too far from the house and if it was, the view made it worth the drive. We deff want to come back during the summer. The house was beautiful and cozy and I would deff suggest staying here.
The management company is super! There was a forest fire and an evacuation notice went out. The management company quickly found us another place to stay- a better place! But this place (Elk Trail House) is great! The views over the valley are awesome and having coffee on the porch was a a highlight. Also, no need to drive to town and hunt for parking. There's a nearby place (satellite parking lot) where you can park and ride the transit in. We loved playing pool and throwing darts. This place was very spacious and in good shape.

This three-bedroom plus loft log home is nestled in a quiet residential neighborhood of Peak 7 offering dramatic views of the peaks of Breckenridge. The unique antler chandelier that hovers over the dining room table and buffalo and moose mounts add to the warm Colorado ambiance in the living room where guests will love to gather at the end of a busy day.
LOCATION – Your home-away-from-home is located approximately four miles from town as well as the base of Peak 8. This property is also close to the Breckenridge Golf Club and gives easy access to all that Summit County has to offer!
